Лесные пожары стремительно распространяются в странах Средиземноморья. В Греции огонь подошел опасно близко к Афинам, вынуждая власти обратиться за помощью к Европейскому союзу. На Кипре стихия унесла жизни, уничтожив множество домов. В Турции тысячи спасателей ведут борьбу с огнем, особенно в южных провинциях, которые пострадали сильнее всего.
Лесные пожары продолжают свирепствовать в Греции, Турции и на Кипре. Греческие власти запросили у Евросоюза шесть пожарных самолетов для борьбы со стихией. По сообщениям местных СМИ, сотни людей были эвакуированы с пляжей и из населенных пунктов, не менее пяти человек госпитализированы. Дым от пожаров ощущался даже в самом центре Афин.
На Кипре, по официальным данным, два человека погибли, и десятки получили ранения. Огонь опустошил около 120 квадратных километров территории, уничтожив дома. Однако, как отмечает местный гид Алексей, ситуация на данный момент взята под контроль:
«Пожары уже потушены, их больше нет. Это произошло лишь в одном небольшом районе, неподалеку от Лимассола. Действительно, проводилась эвакуация, но сейчас людей уже возвращают, так как огонь локализован».
В Турции к тушению пожаров привлечено 5500 спасателей, более 100 единиц авиатехники и 1500 пожарных машин. Наиболее серьезно пострадали провинции Карабюк, Бурса, Анталья, Мерсин и Анкара.
С 20 по 26 июля в десяти провинциях была проведена предварительная эвакуация местного населения. Экскурсовод Гумар делится текущей ситуацией в Бурсе:
Вопрос: Как складывается обстановка?
Гумар: «Я считаю, что ситуация преувеличена. В целом, все необходимые меры приняты, пожары активно тушат, так что, на мой взгляд, опасности нет».
Вопрос: Затронуты ли другие районы?
Гумар: «Пострадавшие районы находятся на юге, где сейчас очень жарко — у нас уже неделю держится высокая температура. Для туристов опасности нет, поскольку эти места расположены немного в стороне от туристических зон».
Вопрос: Сообщается об эвакуации жителей. Насколько ситуация под контролем?
Гумар: «Это стандартная процедура: при возникновении пожаров жителей близлежащих населенных пунктов, которым может угрожать дым, эвакуируют. Мы сейчас как раз находимся в районе Бурсы».
Вопрос: Можно ли там находиться? Сильного задымления нет?
Гумар: «Нет, всё в норме».
Вопрос: Есть ли прогнозы относительно температуры или новых возгораний?
Гумар: «Пик жары был около двух дней назад, температура достигала 40 градусов. На ближайшую неделю прогнозы, честно говоря, я не смотрел».
Российский союз туриндустрии (РСТ) сообщил РБК, что российские туристы продолжают отдых в обычном режиме. Принимающие стороны не сообщают о необходимости эвакуаций, заверяя, что в случае возникновения чрезвычайной ситуации все туристы будут оперативно перемещены в безопасное место.
Forest Fires Erupt Simultaneously in Several Mediterranean Countries
Forest fires are rapidly spreading across Mediterranean countries. In Greece, flames have approached dangerously close to Athens, prompting authorities to request assistance from the European Union. On Cyprus, the disaster has claimed lives and destroyed numerous homes. In Turkey, thousands of rescuers are battling the blaze, with southern provinces being the most severely affected.
Wildfires continue to rage in Greece, Turkey, and Cyprus. Greek authorities have requested six firefighting aircraft from the European Union to combat the inferno. According to local media, hundreds of people have been evacuated from beaches and settlements, with at least five individuals hospitalized. The smell of smoke from the fires was palpable even in central Athens.
In Cyprus, according to official reports, two people have died and dozens have been injured. The fires have devastated approximately 120 square kilometers of land, destroying homes. However, as local guide Alexei notes, the situation is currently under control:
“The fires have already been extinguished; they are no longer active. This only occurred in a specific, small area, near Limassol. There was indeed an evacuation, but people are now returning as the fire has been contained.”
In Turkey, 5,500 rescuers, over 100 aerial vehicles, and 1,500 fire engines have been deployed to fight the blazes. The provinces of Karabük, Bursa, Antalya, Mersin, and Ankara have sustained the most significant damage.
From July 20 to 26, local residents were preemptively evacuated in ten provinces. Guide Gumar shares the current situation in Bursa:
Question: What`s the situation like?
Gumar: “I believe the situation is exaggerated. Generally, all necessary measures have been taken, and the fires are being actively extinguished, so in my opinion, there is no danger.”
Question: Are other areas affected?
Gumar: “The affected areas are in the south, where it`s currently very hot — we`ve had high temperatures for a week now. There`s no danger for tourists because these places are a bit outside the main tourist zones.”
Question: Reports mention resident evacuations. How much is the situation under control?
Gumar: “That`s a standard procedure: when fires occur, residents of nearby villages who might be affected by smoke are evacuated. We are currently in the Bursa area.”
Question: Is it safe to be there? Is there heavy smoke?
Gumar: “No, everything is fine.”
Question: Are there any forecasts regarding temperature or new outbreaks?
Gumar: “The peak of the heatwave was about two days ago — 40 degrees Celsius. To be honest, I haven`t checked the forecasts for the upcoming week.”
The Russian Union of Travel Industry (RST) informed RBC that Russian tourists are continuing their holidays as usual. Hosting parties have not reported any need for evacuations, assuring that in the event of an emergency, all tourists will be promptly moved to a safe location.
