Пробка в Крым через мост 3 августа составила рекордные 30 километров

On August 3rd, a record-breaking 30-kilometer traffic jam formed on the Crimean Bridge. This marks the longest congestion from the Taman side since 2022. Motorists faced considerable delays, with average waiting times of four hours for manual inspection and up to seven hours for scanner inspection. The previous record for traffic length on the bridge, recorded in July, was 22 kilometers.

By 1:00 PM on Sunday, over two thousand vehicles were queued for manual inspection from the Taman side. By 4:00 PM, this number had decreased to 1,400, and the waiting time dropped to four hours.

According to Alexander Gorny, a Crimean journalist and blogger, the situation with the scanner—which is used for oversized cargo, large SUVs, trucks, and buses—remains unpredictable because public transport is given priority.

“The situation on the Crimean Bridge is deteriorating. August is the peak tourist season, and private cars have become the primary mode of transportation for most visitors, with approximately 65-70% traveling to Crimea by vehicle. Recent data indicates that traffic jams are extending up to 30 kilometers, and waiting times can genuinely reach seven, eight, or even ten hours. As for the scanner, the situation there is completely uncertain, as buses and minibuses have a clear priority over all other vehicles crossing the Crimean Bridge. The temperature in Crimea is currently 26-27 degrees Celsius, and it`s cloudy. Typically, relevant ministries organize portable toilets, volunteer assistance, and water distribution, especially during heatwaves. The situation is expected to worsen further in the coming days. According to forecasts from specialized Telegram channels related to the Crimean Bridge, a `red zone` is anticipated until August 5th, implying traffic jams involving approximately one to two thousand cars. Afterward, a slight decrease is expected, with the next peak of tourist arrivals predicted to involve 10-11 thousand vehicles.”

The expert advises tourists to stock up on water and fuel before approaching the Crimean Bridge. It is also important to note that the bridge experiences its highest traffic volume on Fridays and weekends. Gorny also predicts August traffic jams for those leaving the peninsula, recommending that travelers allocate extra time for crossing the bridge. The bridge’s throughput is additionally affected by drone threats; for example, on Saturday, traffic on the Crimean Bridge was closed from midnight to 6:00 AM.
