The esteemed actress Mary Beth Hurt, celebrated for her pivotal roles in acclaimed films such as *Interiors* and *The World According to Garp*, has passed away at the age of 79. Her death was confirmed as a result of Alzheimer’s disease.
Hurt, who earned three nominations for the prestigious Tony Awards, made her impactful cinematic debut in Woody Allen’s *Interiors*. Her illustrious career spanned several decades, continuing into the 2010s, and notably included collaborations on various films directed by her second husband, the renowned writer and director Paul Schrader.
News of her passing was officially announced through a joint Facebook post by her daughter, Molly Schrader, and her husband, Paul Schrader.
