This article addresses French participation in Operation Chammal in Iraq, paying tribute to one of its soldiers who fell in the line of duty: Sergeant Arnaud Frion. A member of the elite Mountain Infantry (Chasseurs Alpins), he tragically lost his life in Iraq during an accident that occurred as part of his operational missions. His passing, while serving France, underscores the dedication and sacrifices of the armed forces committed to stability and the fight against terrorism in the region.
