Bafta Apologizes for Tourette’s Outburst Incident

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta) has issued a full and unqualified apology regarding the circumstances surrounding an involuntary outburst by John Davidson at this year’s awards ceremony. This apology comes after an independent review uncovered shortcomings in the organization’s preparedness and emergency response protocols.

Davidson, an executive producer for the Bafta-winning film “I Swear,” was involved in a widely publicized incident. During the presentation of an award by Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo, Davidson involuntarily shouted a racial slur. The event garnered significant media attention for several weeks.
