Residents of the Chelyabinsk Oblast witnessed the flight of a bright, presumably bolide, on Friday night. The celestial object illuminated the sky as it passed over the region.
A video recording, shared by local resident Dmitry Moskin on the social network `VKontakte`, captured the event. The footage shows the night sky being illuminated for several seconds by an intense flash, followed by the appearance of a fiery object. This luminous object then burned up shortly after.
It is worth noting that a significant celestial body impact has previously occurred in the Chelyabinsk Oblast. On February 15, 2013, a meteorite fell here; a fragment weighing around 600 kilograms was recovered from Lake Chebarkul and is currently stored in a museum. Fortunately, there were no fatalities during that event, but over 1,600 people required medical assistance, and 52 of them were hospitalized.
