Leading beverage giants Pepsi and Diageo have announced their withdrawal of sponsorship from a prominent UK music festival. This decision follows significant public backlash, including strong condemnation from Labour leader Keir Starmer, concerning the booking of controversial rapper Kanye West as a headliner. Starmer had labeled the choice to feature an artist known for a song titled ‘Heil Hitler’ as ‘deeply concerning’. Compounding the situation, it’s reported that West has not yet submitted an application for entry into Britain. Under existing regulations, UK authorities retain the power to prevent his entry should his presence be deemed detrimental to the public good.
