An elderly resident of Japan has tragically fallen victim to a sophisticated online scam. A cunning perpetrator, falsely claiming to be an astronaut in peril, successfully convinced the woman that he urgently required financial assistance to purchase life-sustaining oxygen in space.

The fraudster initiated contact with the unsuspecting pensioner, introducing himself as a space traveler, and subsequently continued their communication exclusively through online platforms. Over a period of time, he meticulously crafted an elaborate story, alleging that he was stranded on his spaceship and facing severe and immediate threats.

Leveraging this fabricated emergency and the critical need for oxygen, the impostor systematically requested substantial financial aid from the trusting woman. Believing his dramatic tale of distress, the pensioner proceeded to transfer a considerable sum, ultimately losing approximately one million Japanese Yen. This amount is roughly equivalent to 550,000 Russian Rubles.
