Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney Apologizes After Laying Off Employee with Terminal Brain Cancer

Tim Sweeney, the CEO of Epic Games, the company behind the popular game Fortnite, has issued an apology. This came after significant backlash following recent mass layoffs, which resulted in an employee with terminal brain cancer losing both his job and crucial life insurance.

On Sunday, Sweeney’s apology followed revelations made by Jenni Griffin, wife of the laid-off employee Mike Prinke. She disclosed on social media that her husband’s termination also meant the cancellation of his life insurance, sparking widespread criticism.
