Sberbank CEO Herman Gref has shared his perspective on the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on the job market. He stated that AI is poised to replace individuals in the most unskilled professions.
Gref specifically noted that within the next two to three years, advanced humanoid robots will be capable of performing tasks such as sweeping streets, serving food, and preparing meals. Speaking at the Moscow Startup Summit, he reiterated his belief that “physical AI” will take over roles requiring low-skilled labor.
He further elaborated on the rapid advancements, suggesting that robots will not only function as autonomous cleaning devices but also as physical, human-like entities capable of a wide array of service-oriented and manual tasks.
Looking ahead, the head of Sberbank anticipates that the next decade will witness the emergence of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and potentially even Superintelligence. Gref described Superintelligence as a force that could effectively resolve humanity`s most intractable problems, including the remaining unsolved mathematical equations and numerous other complex issues.
He emphasized that this technological leap presents both immense challenges and unparalleled opportunities. Gref concluded by highlighting the potential for breakthrough innovations in new technologies, materials, and transportation methods that these advancements will unlock, underscoring the need for collaborative effort in addressing these changes.
