SJ-100 aircraft taking off

The import-substituted SJ-100 aircraft has successfully completed its maiden flight, as announced by the state corporation Rostec.

Aircraft number 97004, manufactured using serial production technologies, took to the skies from the airfield in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. A distinctive feature of this particular aircraft is its complete outfitting with Russian-made components, including PD-8 power units.

“Currently, 24 serial production aircraft are in various stages of readiness,” the state corporation further added.

In March, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov, during a meeting of the presidium of the Council of Legislators of the Russian Federation, stated that the first flights for the import-substituted passenger aircraft MC-21 and SJ-100 were anticipated in the first half of 2025.
