Kneecap Rapper Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh Cleared of Terrorism Charge After High Court Rejects CPS Appeal

Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, a rapper from the hip-hop group Kneecap, will not face a terrorism trial following a High Court decision in London that upheld an earlier ruling to dismiss his case. Judges rejected the Crown Prosecution Service’s (CPS) appeal against the 28-year-old artist, who performs under the name Mo Chara.

Ó hAnnaidh had been accused of displaying the flag of a proscribed group, Hezbollah, during a performance at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town, north London, in November 2024. The latest ruling by the high court solidifies the previous decision to drop the charges against him, ensuring he will not be brought to trial on these allegations.
