Krasnikov: Unique Hypersonic Results Achieved by Russian Academy of Sciences

During a recent working meeting with Vladimir Putin, Gennady Krasnikov, head of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), announced that the RAS is conducting fundamental research in the field of national defense and security. He emphasized that during these highly demanded studies, which are coordinated with general designers, a unique result was achieved in the field of hypersonic technologies.

Krasnikov noted that the `Sixth Program of Fundamental Scientific Research for National Defense and Security` was relaunched in late 2023 after a long break. According to him, the program is `very well structured,` and all research conducted within it is relevant and approved by chief armament and technology designers. The head of the RAS promised to present a detailed report on the program`s outcomes to the president, specifically highlighting the breakthrough in hypersonic and other developments.
