Daytime temperatures in the capital region are anticipated to remain near record highs through the end of the week. Forecasters predict a slight easing of the heat only from next Monday, with temperatures not exceeding +30 °C.
Swimming in local reservoirs is expected to be comfortable during this period.
Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo Weather Center, shares further details:
“Starting Friday, July 11, it will be quite comfortable to swim in reservoirs in Moscow and the surrounding region; it`s already comfortable today in enclosed bodies of water. As for the heat itself, water is the best escape until Saturday, with maximum air temperatures reaching +33…+35 °C. Mornings will be a bit cooler, around 20 degrees, but in the city center, it will be 25 degrees, which are the most challenging weather conditions for enduring the heat. Regarding the weakening of the heat, it will come with the first thunderstorms on Sunday, and by Monday, the maximum temperature will be below 30 degrees. Night temperatures will remain relatively high, but the intense daytime heat will subside.”
The Hydrometcenter recently extended the orange level of weather hazard in the capital region. This warning is in effect until July 14.
