Moscow`s Big Circle Line (BCL) of the metro has launched a unique themed train, developed in collaboration with Roscosmos. Its introduction coincides with several significant events: the opening of the National Space Center, the 90th anniversary of the Moscow Metro, and the 68th anniversary of the launch of Earth`s first artificial satellite. This information was confirmed on the official website of the capital`s mayor and government.
The “Roscosmos” themed train will operate on the BCL for a period of six months. Its debut marked the grand opening of the National Space Center and coincided with celebrations for the Moscow Metro`s 90th anniversary and the 68th anniversary of Earth`s first satellite launch. The train`s design was a collaborative effort between Moscow`s transport authorities and the Roscosmos State Corporation, according to the official statement.
Over its six-month operational period, the train will offer passengers a unique opportunity to explore the key milestones and achievements of Russian cosmonautics, from the launch of the first satellite to the latest space technologies.
Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry, emphasized: “This year, the Moscow Metro celebrates its 90th anniversary. We are delighted to implement joint projects with Roscosmos. This new themed train will allow passengers to get a closer look at the history and achievements of domestic cosmonautics and witness how future technologies are becoming part of everyday life.”
