Fresh photographs of the interstellar object known as 3I/ATLAS provide conclusive evidence of its cometary composition, according to a recent report by the British publication Daily Mail.
“These new images very clearly demonstrate that 3I/ATLAS is a comet.”
— Astronomer Mark Norris
The publication highlighted that the pictures, obtained by scientists at the Gemini Observatory in Chile, distinctly show an icy nucleus enveloped by a characteristic cloud of dust and gas. These features are typical attributes of comets.

The interstellar visitor, 3I/ATLAS, was initially spotted on July 1st. A subsequent computer model estimated its venerable age to be in excess of 7.5 billion years, making it approximately three billion years older than our own Sun.
