Consuming caffeine at night might lead to unexpected consequences, such as increased impulsivity. A recent study revealed that fruit flies given caffeine after dark exhibited more reckless behavior, disregarding their usual stop signals. Daytime caffeine intake did not produce similar changes, highlighting a strong correlation between the time of consumption and behavioral responses. Significantly, female subjects were considerably more sensitive to these effects than males.
