MOSCOW – The Russian State Space Corporation Roscosmos has officially announced the appointment of Oleg Maydanovich as the new General Director for the Center for Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure (TsENKI), commonly known as Russian Cosmodromes.
The official statement confirmed, “Oleg Vladimirovich Maydanovich has been designated as the General Director of JSC TsENKI.”
Maydanovich`s distinguished career includes academic achievements from prestigious military institutions: he is a graduate of the Nedelin Rostov Higher Military Command and Engineering School of Missile Forces, the Peter the Great Military Academy of Strategic Missile Forces, and the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.
His professional service in the Russian Armed Forces saw him holding significant command roles at both the Baikonur and Plesetsk cosmodromes. Notably, from 2011 to 2016, he led the Space Command troops.
“Maydanovich played a direct role in the meticulous preparation and successful execution of space launch vehicle missions from key cosmodromes including Baikonur, Plesetsk, and Vostochny,” stated the state corporation.
Recognized for his outstanding contributions to space exploration, Maydanovich has received numerous accolades. These include the Order “For Military Merit,” the Order of Honor, various medals from both the USSR and the Russian Federation, and commendations from the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Roscosmos State Corporation.
His tenure at TsENKI began in 2016, and since 2019, he has held the crucial position of First Deputy General Director of the enterprise, prior to his latest appointment.
