OpenAI Halts ChatGPT ‘Adult Mode’ Development, Realigns Strategy Amidst Growing AI Competition

The intensifying competition within the artificial intelligence sector, particularly with players like Anthropic offering robust migration tools, appears to be prompting OpenAI to reassess some of its strategic priorities. While the startup had been actively exploring numerous new functionalities and concepts through various experiments with ChatGPT in recent months, several key initiatives have now been put on hold. Following the recent suspension of its text-to-video model, Sora, OpenAI has also made the decision to halt the development of a dedicated “adult mode” for its popular chatbot.
