“The cosmic trailblazer turned to Thomas and asked, ‘You’re the kid known for the dog song, right? I’ve got something special for you,'” Thomas recounts. “He presented me with this fantastic white hat adorned with a foxtail.” Thomas proudly wore the hat while performing “Mutt,” his breakthrough single of 2024, followed by a powerful rendition of Clinton’s iconic 1982 P-funk anthem, “Atomic Dog.” This memorable moment, however, was preceded by Clinton “hot-boxing” the dressing room.
“I don’t really partake in smoking weed much anymore, but I was in the dressing room with him and Ty,” the 32-year-old Thomas explains. “They were both indulging so heavily – by the time I stepped on stage, I had a sudden realization, ‘Ohhh, I’m definitely feeling a little high right now!'” A symbolic passing of the torch had clearly taken place. “We went out there and absolutely captivated the audience,” Thomas continues. “There were around 12,000 to 13,000 people, and the energy was simply electric. I’m not sure if it’s evident, but I’m still buzzing from that experience.”
