Reddit Fights Bots to Ensure User Authenticity

Digg’s recent shutdown, overwhelmed by automated bots, has clearly served as a warning for Reddit. To avoid a similar fate and preserve the integrity of its platform, Steve Huffman, co-founder and CEO, announced a series of new initiatives on March 25, 2026. The goal is to curb the proliferation of automated accounts and ensure that every interaction originates from a real person, thereby maintaining an authentic user experience across the platform.
