Review: Lush’s Super Mario Galaxy Range – A Sweet-Smelling Dive into Gaming Toiletries

Lush’s newest collaborative release, featuring everything from a delicate Princess Peach lip jelly to a Yoshi egg that has reportedly startled young users, plunges consumers into an otherworldly cosmetic experience.

The 2023 debut of The Super Mario Bros Movie brought with it an unexpected collaboration: a collection of skincare and bath items from the well-known cosmetics retailer, Lush. Given Lush’s reputation for championing natural ingredients and advocating for social justice, its partnership with a major video game franchise initially struck many as unconventional. Intrigued by this unusual pairing, I decided to test the products, fully expecting my brief venture into beauty journalism to be a fleeting experience. My assumption, however, proved incorrect.

The initial collection garnered such immense success that Lush subsequently launched a Minecraft-themed line, which I also had the opportunity to review. Now, to coincide with the release of the new movie, we see the arrival of a Super Mario Galaxy range. In an unforeseen turn, I appear to have become the go-to reviewer for Lush’s gaming collaborations, finding myself perpetually immersed in a fragrant loop of video game-inspired personal care products. Recognizing that there are far less desirable predicaments, I’m content to embrace this role.
