Dmitry Bakanov, the head of Russia`s space corporation Roscosmos, has declared his commitment to actively work towards maintaining cooperation channels with the United States. He expressed an expectation for similar efforts from the American space agency, NASA.
“I will make every effort to preserve the cooperation channel between Russia and the USA, and I expect the same from NASA,” Bakanov was quoted as saying in a Roscosmos statement.
This statement followed his discussions in the United States with Sean Duffy, the acting NASA Administrator and US Secretary of Transportation. This marked the first in-person meeting between the heads of the two leading space agencies since 2018.
