The Russian state space corporation Roscosmos has released satellite images capturing the movement of a cyclone that brought powerful torrential rain to the capital.

According to the agency`s statement, a “monitoring of the cyclone`s passage” was conducted over the central part of Russia. It was noted that the images were taken using Russian satellites `Elektro-L` and `Arktika-M`.
Earlier on Tuesday, Yevgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, had warned residents of the capital about approaching heavy downpours accompanied by thunderstorms, with precipitation intensity potentially reaching up to 20 liters of rainwater per square meter.
