Russia has officially announced the completion of its new heavy-duty strike drone, the “MiS-150,” designed to mirror the operational capabilities of Ukraine`s “Baba Yaga” drone.
Developed by the “MiS” design bureau, this advanced unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is primarily engineered for the delivery of supplies and the deployment of munitions on the battlefield. A standout feature of the MiS-150 is its robust protection against electronic warfare (EW) systems, thanks to an integrated special system known as “Povodyr” (meaning “Guide”). This technology enables the drone to effectively navigate and evade areas of signal suppression, ensuring operational continuity in contested electromagnetic environments.
The MiS-150 boasts an impressive payload capacity of up to 15 kilograms and is capable of covering a flight range of up to 12 kilometers. Unlike its predecessor, the “MiS-35,” which was largely confined to humanitarian missions, the “MiS-150” marks a significant shift, being fundamentally designed as a strike platform. Nevertheless, it retains the versatility to be deployed for transporting humanitarian aid when required, highlighting its multi-role capability.
