September 13, 2025

On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Russia successfully launched an additional Glonass navigation satellite into Earth`s orbit. This launch was confirmed by Dmitry Bakanov, the Director General of Roscosmos, who shared the information with journalists.

Bakanov noted that the Glonass mission was one of two successful space launches carried out by Russia within a 48-hour period. The preceding launch involved a cargo spacecraft, which was sent from the Baikonur Cosmodrome to deliver essential supplies to the International Space Station (ISS).

The Glonass satellite itself was launched overnight from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, located in the Arkhangelsk region. Further details emerged on the morning of September 13 when the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the same launch from Plesetsk, utilizing a Soyuz-2.1b rocket, also successfully deployed a satellite intended for the department`s interests, alongside the Mozhaets-6 educational and research satellite.
