Moscow – Russian cosmonaut Oleg Platonov, who is preparing for an upcoming mission aboard an American spacecraft, recently held a video conference with his fellow cosmonauts. During the call, he was seen seated at a table, notable for two Coca-Cola cans positioned on it.

Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, released a video of this interaction. The scene at the Russian Cosmonaut Training Center showed both veteran cosmonauts and those yet to embark on their first spaceflight, all gathered under the leadership of squad commander Oleg Kononenko.

The other end of the video call featured the crew of the Crew Dragon spacecraft, which is scheduled to launch to the International Space Station on July 31st. This crew comprises Russian cosmonaut Oleg Platonov, Americans Zena Cardman and Michael Fincke, and Japanese astronaut Kimiya Yui. On the table where this international crew was seated, two Coca-Cola cans were distinctly visible. Their design, with a traditional red base transitioning to a burgundy shade towards the top, was noted as being unusual for Russian consumers.
