In Russia, penalties will not be applied for transferring SIM cards to family members. This statement was made by Artem Sheikin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation, during a conversation with TASS.

The senator clarified that administrative liability will not be incurred if a phone or SIM card was temporarily and gratuitously given to another person for a personal call.

Sheikin also noted that fines will not be imposed if the SIM card is transferred to a close relative, including children, parents, grandparents, spouses, brothers, and sisters.

It is worth noting that the possibility of introducing fines for transferring a subscriber number to third parties was previously discussed. The State Duma has already approved amendments providing for a fine of up to 50,000 rubles for individuals for such violations.
