Last night was one of the warmest in the capital. Additionally, the first half of July saw another weather record: on Saturday, July 12, the temperature in Moscow reached 34.6°C, the highest recorded for that date since 1903.

In the afternoon and evening on Monday, hail is possible in Moscow. The Hydrometeorological Center warns that wind gusts during thunderstorms could reach 17 meters per second in some areas.
Tatyana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at Meteonovosti, comments on the heat`s impact and the forecast:
The night was very muggy with high humidity and minimum temperatures above 20°C, close to the unfavorable threshold of 23°C for health. The coming days will see unstable weather with short, potentially heavy rains and thunderstorms. Minimum temperatures will be slightly lower than the previous night, around 17-19°C for the next few nights until Wednesday, with daytime highs of 25-27°C, similar to today. Starting Wednesday, the wind will shift to a northerly component, and temperatures will gradually decrease. Thursday night will be cooler and dry, with daytime temperatures around 26°C. The night of July 18 is expected to be even cooler (14-19°C), with a daytime high around 25°C. Overall, temperatures are returning to the climatic norm for this time of year.
Beyond the warm night, the first half of July also set a historical heat record. On July 12, the temperature reached 34.6°C, slightly exceeding the previous high for that date, which was recorded in 1903.
