Summer-Like Warmth to Embrace Capital Region During First Half of September

Meteorologists are forecasting a delightful start to September for residents of the capital and its surrounding areas, promising a warm reprieve after a notably wet and cool August. Expect daytime temperatures to consistently exceed 20 degrees Celsius, accompanied by an absence of significant rainfall.

This period of comfortable warmth is anticipated to last until mid-September in Moscow. Weather experts indicate that daily air temperatures will hover between 19 and 22 degrees Celsius, with no substantial precipitation expected. This duration effectively translates into a `meteorological summer` for the region. Alexei Safonov, a weather observer for the Meteoweb project, offered his insights:

Alexei Safonov, Meteoweb project weather observer:

“Air temperatures will be quite pleasant. Virtually until September 15th, daytime temperatures are projected to be around 20-21 degrees Celsius. Crucially, there will be no significant precipitation. While it might be partly cloudy at times, these clouds are not expected to bring rain. Nights, despite the warm days, will be clear and cool, around 10-12 degrees Celsius, though slightly higher in central Moscow. It seems September will compensate for August. August was very rainy; now it`s our turn to enjoy the warmth, though swimming is out of the question as water temperatures are already below 18 degrees. It`s possible we might have three to three and a half weeks without rain, but we can`t be certain yet. Most likely, things will change in two weeks, and we`ll see which direction that takes.”

Forecasters generally agree that temperatures across almost all regions of Russia during the first half of September will be at or above the seasonal norm.
