Tesla Updates Model S and Model X Electric Cars

American automaker Tesla has refreshed its popular Model S and Model X electric vehicles, as noted by the specialized publication Elecktrek.

According to reports, these electric cars received a “soft update.” New options include a Frost Blue exterior color, enhanced cabin sound insulation, newly designed wheels, dynamic lighting, an additional front camera, and adaptive high beam headlights. All versions of the Model S and Model X models have seen a price increase of $5,000.

The company stated there`s a slight improvement in driving range on a single charge. This was reportedly achieved through subtle changes to the body design and the new wheels with improved aerodynamics. The added front camera is intended to enhance visibility and help the vehicle avoid road imperfections when in autopilot mode. Interior space for second and third-row passengers has also been increased.

Furthermore, Tesla engineers mentioned a “unique animation” displayed upon entering the cabin. The company also claimed the vehicles offer increased stability at high speeds.

Following the price hike, the base version of the Model S now starts at $85,000, while the Model X starts at $90,000.

Earlier this summer, The New York Times reported that Tesla`s sales in Germany have been declining for the fifth consecutive month. In contrast, demand for BYD products, Tesla`s main competitor in the EV market, has reportedly increased ninefold in Germany.
