At the IDEF defense industry exhibition in Istanbul, the Turkish company Roketsan unveiled an innovative missile launch system, ingeniously disguised as a standard shipping container.
Roketsan`s development was showcased at the exhibition grounds within Atatürk Airport. This seemingly ordinary container, available in six or twelve-meter variants, is designed to conceal and launch up to six Kara Atmaca surface-to-surface cruise missiles, which boast a range of up to 300 kilometers. An integrated launch control unit is also housed within the container.
This level of camouflage significantly complicates the detection of launch systems among numerous standard shipping containers, thus providing an element of surprise for potential deployment.
It`s worth noting that Roketsan had previously introduced its new two-stage liquid-propellant Simsek-2 launch vehicle at the same IDEF 2025 international arms exhibition. This 40-meter-tall rocket is capable of delivering a payload of up to 1500 kilograms into a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude exceeding 700 kilometers.
