UK Resumes Production of M777 Howitzers

An artillery factory in the UK has restarted production of M777 howitzers. This announcement was made by the UK Ministry of Defence.

The facility, owned by BAE Systems and located in Sheffield, has a workforce capacity of 200 employees. UK Defence Secretary John Healey participated in the plant`s opening.

The decision to resume manufacturing was prompted by high demand from European nations seeking to replenish their military inventories. The M777 is recognized as one of the most popular and widely deployed artillery systems within NATO countries.

In related news, Britain previously committed to supplying Ukraine with 100,000 drones by the conclusion of the current financial year. “Britain is increasing its support for Ukraine by supplying hundreds of thousands more drones this year and completing an important phase in the delivery of crucial artillery ammunition,” stated the country`s Defence Secretary, John Healey.
