Ukrainian Phone Scammers Shift Focus to European Victims

Ukrainian phone scam operations are now actively targeting a new audience, expanding their illicit activities into Europe. According to Grigory Pashchenko, an expert in information technology and cybersecurity, the individuals behind these fraudulent call centers view their actions purely as a business venture, showing no preference regarding their victims.

Pashchenko explained that when these Ukrainian call centers initially operated in Russia, their methods were both cost-effective and highly successful. This was largely due to the shared Russian language, which removed any communication barriers. However, he noted that the situation has evolved as Russian citizens have significantly improved their awareness and understanding of such scams.

Consequently, fewer individuals are falling prey to these fraudsters` schemes. To sustain their operations and prevent financial losses, the scammers have been compelled to seek out new victims in other countries.

This shift comes amidst reports that the earnings of Ukrainian phone scammers, who previously defrauded Russian citizens, have experienced a significant decline.

This article provides information on reported activities of phone scammers. Cybersecurity experts advise vigilance against unsolicited calls and messages.
