The early part of the current week in the capital is forecasted to be warm and sunny, with daytime temperatures potentially reaching up to 22 degrees Celsius. However, a noticeable shift in weather conditions is anticipated towards the week`s end: starting Thursday, a drop in temperature is expected, accompanied by light rainfall. Despite this mid-week change, forecasts indicate that pleasant weather will make a welcome return by the beginning of the following week.
Alexander Shuvalov, the head of the Meteo forecast center, provided a comprehensive overview of the upcoming weather patterns:
“The first half of the week will be sunny, with temperatures between 20-22 degrees, potentially reaching up to 23 degrees in the southeast of the region. This indicates very warm conditions with significant temperature differences between night and day. Fortunately, ground frosts have already ceased, and today in Cherusti, temperatures were only +1 degree, with no further frosts expected. Nighttime temperatures will see a slight increase. However, the second half of the week will starkly contrast the first, as a frontal system approaches from the west on Thursday. We anticipate rain closer to evening on Thursday, with temperatures around 17 degrees. On Friday and Saturday, the rains will persist, and temperatures will remain within the 15-17 degree range. But this is not the end of the good weather. By Saturday, the rains will subside, and warmth will return once more. We will be influenced by the warm sector of a cyclone moving northward through St. Petersburg and the southern Arkhangelsk region. Consequently, temperatures on Sunday are projected to reach up to +20 degrees, and on Monday, up to +22 degrees. So, for now, apart from the latter half of this week, we can look forward to enjoying warm weather.”
