Wildberries Alerts Russians to New ‘Easy Money’ Scams

Fraudsters operating under the guise of the Wildberries marketplace are now targeting Russians with offers of easy money. The unified company Wildberries & Russ issued a warning about this new method of deception.

Reports indicate that these fraudsters are setting up Telegram channels, private chats, and websites, promising simple earnings supposedly from Wildberries. According to the press service, the perpetrators may even use images of public figures to grab the attention of potential victims.

Falling victim to this scheme could result in scammers stealing money. Furthermore, victims` personal data could also be compromised.

Wildberries & Russ stated that overly attractive job terms in the advertisements should be a red flag. Additionally, fraudsters typically demand advance payment, request SMS verification codes, or instruct users to click on links leading to external websites, channels, or chats.

This follows previous reports of scammers contacting Russians by phone, impersonating employees of major marketplaces. In those cases, fraudsters would reach out to users claiming suspicious activity or issues with their accounts.
