Adam Scott: On the Nuances of Severance, Scorsese, and Star Encounters

The subtle transformation of your face as you descend in the Severance elevator is remarkable. What specific thoughts or feelings guide that shift between your character’s two personas?

We dedicated a considerable amount of time to crafting that elevator transition. It took numerous attempts, perhaps around 100, before we found the right approach. Ultimately, our director, Ben Stiller, proposed a delicate fluttering of my eyelids to signify the character’s shift between his “innie” and “outie” selves. This subtle action became the key to conveying the distinct separation of the two identities.

What was your initial reaction and experience like working on Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator?

Initially, I felt quite intimidated by the prospect of working on such a high-profile project. However, once I was on set, I realized that the cast and crew were simply professionals dedicated to their craft, just like any other actors collaborating on a scene. Everyone was incredibly kind and supportive, making me feel at ease from the very beginning. This welcoming atmosphere allowed me to fully immerse myself in the role and contribute to the film.
