James Norton to Take on the Role of Hamlet in West End Production

James Norton, known for his roles in “Happy Valley” and “King & Conqueror,” is set to portray Hamlet in his first major Shakespearean stage performance. The acclaimed German director Thomas Ostermeier will helm this English-language production, scheduled for next autumn in London’s West End.

Norton shared that he finds the casting to be both an honor and a source of considerable apprehension. This upcoming performance marks his return to the stage after his critically challenging role in “A Little Life” in 2023, which he previously described as the most demanding work of his career.
