Kwn: From Amazon Driver to Global R&B Sensation

The life of a delivery driver is far from easy, as British singer Kwn discovered firsthand. After her record label dropped her, the vocalist found herself needing to make ends meet, leading her to a job as a courier. Now, she’s back in the music scene, boasting millions of fans drawn to her uniquely evocative songwriting.

Kwn, whose real name is K Wilson, has never shied away from hard work. Her past jobs include night shifts at Sainsbury’s and assisting her father, the head chef at London’s The Ivy. However, her initial day as an Amazon delivery driver in 2024 proved to be a deeply demoralizing experience. Just two years prior, the singer had signed a record deal and released her debut EP, “Episode Wn.” Now, facing the reality of being dropped and broke, she found herself in tears at the end of her shift.

“Be kind to your delivery drivers,” the 26-year-old urged, shaking her head in disbelief. “It’s not a job for the faint of heart. By the time I got home, I was exhausted. I didn’t even want to make music. What the hell was I supposed to write about? Delivering packages?”

Wilson persevered for five months. After unsuccessful attempts to reignite industry interest in her music, she devised a strategy with her manager to sell her upcoming single, “Worst Behaviour,” directly to her fans for £1.99 each. Their initial goal was 500 sales, which would have provided a modest income to sustain them temporarily. However, within a week, they had surpassed their target tenfold. Within months, Wilson was once again in record label boardrooms, listening to executives outline her path to stardom.
