Photo London 2026 Student Award: A Showcase of Emerging Talent

The prestigious Photo London 2026 Student Award has been presented to Akanksya Dahal from Ravensbourne University London. Dahal was selected from a competitive shortlist of four talented emerging artists, each nominated by their respective tutors at leading UK universities.

The other accomplished nominees who showcased exceptional photographic work were Anna Bradshaw of Birmingham City University, Bo Fan from the London College of Communication, and Madison Hafner, a student at Falmouth University.

The distinguished judging panel, responsible for selecting the award recipient, comprised Fiona Shields, Head of Photography at The Guardian; Lisa Springer, Curator of Photography at the V&A; renowned photographer Mimi Mollica; and Kimberly Hoang, Picture Editor at the British Red Cross.
