SFR fined €10 million for misleading mobile plan promises

SFR and its budget-friendly brand, RED by SFR, have been handed a substantial penalty of €10 million. Of this amount, €5 million is suspended, following a ruling on deceptive commercial practices. The Paris Criminal Court determined that the marketing arguments used by the company were misleading.

The concept of “lifetime pricing” has failed to withstand commercial realities. SFR and its low-cost brand, RED by SFR, have recently faced a significant penalty. They have been fined €10 million, with €5 million of that amount suspended, for engaging in deceptive commercial practices. The Paris Criminal Court concluded that the marketing arguments used by the company were misleading.
