What is a ‘Scientology Speedrun’ and Why is Social Media Obsessed?

The term ‘Scientology speedrun’ might initially conjure images of Tom Cruise in athletic attire, but the reality is far from it. This online phenomenon has garnered immense popularity, with one content creator alone accumulating 90 million views for their interpretation of the trend.

The ‘Scientology speedrun’ concept appears to have gained traction in March, originating from a video by content creator Swhileyy. In his footage, Swhileyy documented himself rapidly navigating the exterior of the Church of Scientology located on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. This particular video achieved a staggering 90 million views before it was ultimately removed.
