‘You look at it and you just feel better’: this year’s Photoville festival highlights

The 15th annual Photoville festival in New York presents a global showcase of over 90 photographic exhibitions. Festival co-founder Sam Barzilay shared his delight over the selection of “Old Apples,” an exhibit he described as “whimsical,” focusing on the unique nature of apples, noting that “there are no two apples in nature that are the same.”

This year’s festival features moving images from incarcerated individuals and a revealing look at transgender lives in the 1990s.
