Anne Hathaway has addressed claims that she was responsible for getting size-zero models removed from the upcoming sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada.” The actress clarified her role, stating that no models lost their jobs and that the initiative actually led to the creation of more employment opportunities.
During an appearance on “Good Morning America,” Hathaway aimed to correct a previous statement made by her co-star, Meryl Streep. In March, Streep had shared with Harper’s Bazaar that she was taken aback by the extreme thinness of the models on set. Streep had recalled, “Annie clocked it too, and she made a beeline to the producers about it, securing promises that the models in the show that we were putting together for our film would not be so skeletal! She’s a standup girl.”
Hathaway’s recent comments serve to provide a different perspective on the situation, emphasizing a positive outcome of increased opportunities rather than job losses.
