An exclusive exhibition in London is set to display a unique collection of Jimi Hendrix memorabilia, offering a rare peek into the often-overlooked domestic side of the legendary rock icon’s life. Among the artifacts are personal items such as food orders and phone bills, alongside letters and work permits.
During his time in a bohemian London flat in the 1960s, Jimi Hendrix frequently opted for convenience when it came to meals. He reportedly had his food delivered from “Mr Love,” a popular restaurant located on the ground floor of his building. While patrons enjoyed dining at heart-shaped tables and being served by waitresses in fashionable hot pants, the American musician would retreat to his upstairs living space to enjoy meals like steaks and hamburgers.
This exhibition promises to reveal intimate moments of domesticity, humanizing the larger-than-life rock star through these ordinary, yet profoundly personal, objects.
