A significant medieval manuscript, featuring early retellings of the Merlin and Grail legends, is anticipated to command a price of up to £2 million at auction. This richly illuminated tome, which has been privately held for over seven centuries, offers a glimpse into the origins of the King Arthur narratives.
Among its detailed illustrations, one depicts the formidable sorcerer Merlin in the guise of a talking stag, showcasing his shape-shifting abilities. Another striking image portrays the Knights of the Round Table returning triumphantly from a battle. These vivid depictions are part of one of the earliest known manuscripts to chronicle the adventures of King Arthur and the quest for the Holy Grail.
